Democratization and public participation
Democratic processes are incomplete without the active participation of citizens. This category explores the ways in which the public can (and should) participate in decision-making that affects the environment, public resources, and local communities. We deal with topics such as transparency, public hearings, participatory budgeting and mechanisms for involving citizens in policy-making processes.
Our goal is to empower citizens and organizations to recognize their role and right to influence the decisions that shape their everyday lives.

We, activists for the protection of rivers, water and nature, welcome the International Water Day today with deep concern. Old problems have not been solved, and new troubles cast a shadow over the future of all humanity.
